WHAT IS FSY?

FSY, or For the Strength of Youth, is a large youth conference held by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. FSY is a five-day conference that includes activities, devotionals, and classes designed to help youth strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ with other youth who share similar beliefs.

WHAT IS THE FSY THEME AND OBJECTIVE?

The 2025 youth theme is “Look Unto Christ.” it comes from Doctrine & Covenants 6:36,
“Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”

The objective of FSY is to help youth to:

  1. strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel

  2. feel an increased sense of belonging

  3. be empowered to continue having spiritual experiences at home.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

Youth aged 14 to 18 in 2026 in SA and NT are eligible to attend. Youth turning 19 in 2026 may also apply and will be accepted if there is capacity.
 
Friends not of our faith and members not in SA/NT may also express their interest to attend by sending and email to adlfsy25@gmail.com

WHAT IS THE COST?

Each participant is asked to contribute $100 AUD towards the cost of FSY by the end of October. This payment is made using the "Local" category of the online donation slip. 
 
If this cost will cause undue financial hardship, please speak with your Bishop as in some cases ward funds may be available to cover the cost.

WHAT ARE THE RULES AT FSY?

All participants, including Counsellors and Staff, must commit to following the standards found in “For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices” throughout FSY.

Participants engaging in any of the following activities will be asked to leave FSY:
​

  1. ​Participating in or encouraging immoral behaviour of any kind, which includes breaking the law of chastity or viewing or distributing pornography in any form.

  2. Shoplifting, theft, or vandalism of any kind.

  3. Breaking the Word of Wisdom, including vaping or possessing illegal or harmful substances.

  4. Possessing weapons or dangerous items of any kind.

  5. Harming or threatening to harm yourself or others physically, spiritually, or emotionally, including bullying in any form or disrupting another’s experience.

  6. Leaving without following proper procedures, skipping scheduled activities without permission, or breaking curfew.

CAN I BRING MY PHONE

Mobile phones are encouraged at FSY, this is our policy:

Before FSY:

  1. Install Gospel Library, Gospel Living, and FamilySearch apps.

  2. Un-install/delete all inappropriate apps, content or media.
     

During FSY:

  1. Follow the Church’s Guidelines for Using Technology, and make wise choices to uplift and improve the FSY experience for yourself and others

  2. Counsellors will collect your devices at night for charging and return devices in the morning.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Clothes:

    • Casual clothes for 5 days (pants, shorts, shirts, etc.) - it may be hot!

    • Sunday dress clothes (slacks/skirt, blouse/shirt and tie)

    • Comfortable shoes for walking

    • Closed-toe shoes for games and dances

    • Pyjamas

    • A hat (for sun protection)

  • Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, sunscreen etc.

  • A standard bath towel

  • Scriptures (hard copy or electronic)

  • Phone and charging cable/plug

  • Personal medications (if needed)

  • ​Variety show props/costumes/instruments if you plan to participate.
